Back pain can be treated with ozone

German scientists have found beneficial effects of ozone injections to eliminate back pain patients in 37 percent of cases even six months after their placement, writes the newspaper “Daily Mail”.Specialists from Frankfurt University conducted an experiment with 327 volunteers with back pain who had not responded to other treatments. They were made to their local ozone injection into the damaged vertebrae, and in 66 percent of the cases they received immediate relief.

Ozone is highly reactive gas that can have positive effects on human health and negative when the structure is impaired in the atmosphere and creates greenhouse effect. When near the Earth’s surface, the gas creates a strong inflammation of the airways.

But in recent years, scientists have found that ozone is a very good painkiller for a herniated disc. Only 22 percent of the volunteers experienced no improvement, and 7 percent said they feel worse.

Before applying, ozone is associated with steroid drugs, which suppress inflammation of the vertebrae, and injected directly into them with a local anesthetic. Damaged discs shrink swelling of her between 2 and 15%, German scientists found.
