overtrainingFor many years working out at the gym, I’ve recently realized my biggest mistake in bodybuilding and I feel obligated to share it with you.

First, it’s good to mention that I train 100% naturally, without taking any supplements. I’ve fast metabolism and my purpose is to gain muscle mass.

I’ve been working out in the last year following this split:

Monday – Back, Traps, Shoulders, Triceps

Tuesday – Chest, Biceps

Thursday -  Legs, Triceps

Friday – Back, Shoulders, Traps

I really love working out in the gym. I trained back, shoulders, traps and triceps muscles 2 times a week. I didn’t gain any success. Many people suggested that I overtrained, but I thought it’s a myth … Well, I was totally wrong :)

I reduced my training split to:

Monday – Back, Triceps, Traps

Wednesday – Chest, Biceps

Friday – Legs, Shoulders, Traps

I noticed two things:
My strength has increased a little and I was able to train hard every workout for 1.5 hours without any problem.
I gain muscle mass 7 pounds (3 kg) in one month, at the summer.

So, remember my advice: Do not overtrain

, even if you love to spend much in the gym. If you want to gain muscle mass, reduce the workouts number, but continue work out heavy.

I train all muscle groups once a week and I think it’s absolutely enough. Well, I still train traps two times a week, but it’s mu favorite muscle group and I just can’t stop training it :)
